Decorating with burlap

A friend recently asked if I had any ideas on how to use a burlap coffee sack.  Well, I LOVE burlap coffee sacks!  And here are a few ideas to get started…

Since it’s ‘back to school’time here in Rutland, let’s start with practical decorating:

Simply staple the coffee sack over a piece of cork board.

How about decorating a garden gate?  Here in Vermont, we’ve still got a couple months before the snow begins to fly…

If you love the look of vintage linens consider making a pillow.

This would be perfect for a pooch, too!

What better place to put your coffee sack pillow than on a bed with a coffee sack headboard!

If you have oodles of magazines (like me) then consider corralling them in a recycled burlap bag.  Simply insert a sturdy box and pull the sack over it.

So, the next time you see your coffee barista – ask if they have a few sacks to spare.

Cheers ~
